About Bob Wilson
Legendary Nashville Keyboardist, Bob Wilson, has been a recording session musician for most of his musical career. Starting out recording in Detroit, in 1966 he moved to Nashville. Success followed him and he was a major participant in the “Golden Era” of Nashville recording in the 60’s and 70’s, recording on over 2,000 recording sessions.
Bob also did recording sessions in Muscle Shoals, London and Memphis, playing keyboards, producing, arranging and songwriting. He recorded keyboards for Bob Dylan, The Charlie Daniels Band, Linda Ronstadt, Joe Simon, J. J. Cale, Dolly Parton, Connie Francis, Z. Z. Hill, George Jones, Ted Nugent, Leonard Cohen and many others.
Bob recorded and/or toured/appeared with The Charlie Daniels Band, J. J. Cale, The Earl Scruggs Revue, Graham Bell, Bob Dylan, Freddie King, Doug Kershaw, Albert King, Ray Stevens, ZZ Top and Albert Collins. He was on the same concert with The Allman Brothers, Janis Joplin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Chuck Berry, Marshall Tucker Band, Roy Orbison, The Funkadelics, The Byrds, John Lennon, Little Richard, Linda Ronstadt, Youngbloods, Eric Clapton, Canned Heat, Brenda Lee, Molly Hatchet, Carl Perkins, Santana, Jerry Lee Lewis, Ted Nugent, Alice Cooper, Jimmy Reed, Billy Joel, Johnny Cash and many others.
He produced or co/produced records on Slim Harpo, Z. Z. Hill, Joe Simon, Cinema Face, Billy Cox, Aurel Roy, The Kelly Brothers, Earl Gaines, Willie Hobbs, Chuck Armstrong, Ann Sexton and several other great recording artists. He had several instrumental records released in the 1960’s including “All Turned On” for Ric Tic (Golden World/Motown) Records, “Suzy’s Serenade”, “In The Midnight Hour” and “After Hours” for Sound Stage 7 Records. These recordings are included in several compilations records/CD’s by various European record labels.
