REAL THING RECORDS is a division of Real Thing Music, LLC, established in 1974. This record label is dedicated to "Real" recording of the Blues, R&B, Smooth Jazz, Funk & C&W music. We are extremely "performance" orientated, so you may not find the slickness and teflon qualities of other labels; however, we promise that you will find exciting performances by all those involved with the recording and production of our various releases. We specialize in using veteran craftsmen and women in creating our art and analog recording is our favorite method of recording.

We are based in metro-Detroit Michigan, and love to blend the combination of northern and southern musical elements into our mix , i.e., Northern Soul meets Southern Soul.
